MONTGOMERY COUNTY HISPANIC CHAMBER ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR SEVENTH-ANNUAL “FIESTA UNIVERSAL” AT MARKET STREET

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Plans are underway for one of the area’s most popular cultural events, “Fiesta Universal,” hosted by the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber.
            Now in its seventh year, the festival celebrating Latin heritage and culture with food, music, dancing and other fun activities will be held at Market Street – The Woodlands on Wednesday, May 5 from 6 – 10 pm.          The event is free and open to the public.
            “We’re thrilled to be back at Market Street for what promises to be our biggest Fiesta Universal,” says event co-chair Rose Garza.  “Every year the event has grown in popularity and we certainly expect this to continue for our 2010 event.”  Garza is co-chairing the event with Becky Gustamante.

            “We created Market Street for just these types of events,” notes Market Street Activities Coordinator Jenny Taylor. “The Chamber and its members play an important role in our community. We’re pleased to help contribute to their successes.”
            Besides showcasing the culture of the Hispanic community at its annual Fiesta Universal event, the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber works to encourage excellence in the classroom by awarding college scholarships to deserving high school seniors.  In just the past three years, the Chamber has provided approximately $37,000 in college scholarships.
            Established in 2003, the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber is a 501(c)6 organization managed by a volunteer board of directors.
